WHO?:
“I’m Darren, better known as Dada to my three-year-old son Ducky.
We’re Brooklyn-based,
and I was born in a small Caribbean island, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, while Ducky was born in NYC.”
“Our story is really about love, creativity, and navigating fatherhood one day at a time. He’s my bestie, my whole world, and the reason I see life differently now.“
WHEN I SAY KIDSWEAR YOU SAY...
“Balance. Kidswear has to live between comfort and style. For me, it’s about pieces that let Ducky run wild, explore, and be free, but also feel like an intentional expression of who he is. It’s never just about clothes, it’s about reflecting personality, even at this age.”
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR KIDS’ WARDROBES?
“Playful but polished. I lean into neutrals andearthy tonesbecause that’s my lane, but I’ll throw in pops of color when it feels right. Honestly, his wardrobe feels like a mini extension of mine.”
WHAT ROLE DOES BUDGET PLAY IN HOW YOU SHOP FOR KIDSWEAR?
“I’m mindful because kids grow out of things fast. I try to invest in timeless staples, things that can hold up wash after wash, and then mix them with affordable pieces he can wear every day.”
WHERE AND WHAT DO YOU SHOP FOR?
“I’ll scroll Instagram for inspiration, but I love being in a store, feeling the fabrics, and seeing how everything fits together. I shop for cotton and linen.
They’re breathable, soft, and easy for him to move around in. But I love structured pieces too, like little jackets or denim.”

YOU JUGGLE BEING A SINGLE (SUPER)DAD AND BUSINESSOWNER. HOW DOES GETTING DUCKY DRESSED FIT IN?
“On one hand, it’s routine, he’s got to get dressed every day. But for me, it’s also a creative outlet.
It’s where my love for minimalism and intentional style shows up in another way. It’s our time together, and I enjoy it.”
HOW DO YOU CURATE DUCKY’S WARDROBE SO IT STAYS INTENTIONAL YET KID-PROOF?
“I always think long-term.As with my own clothes, his pieces have to feel timeless and versatile. If it can’t be styled multiple ways or feels too trendy, it’s not coming home with us. I want his wardrobe to feel cohesive, not cluttered.”
“It’s about the system. Most of his clothes are easy-to-style staples. That way, no matter what we grab, it looks intentional. It saves time, it keeps mornings stress-free, and it lets him stay comfortable without losing that sharp look.”
IF DUCKY HAD FREE REIN TO STYLE YOU FOR A DAY, WHAT WOULD HE PUT YOU IN?
“Without question, he’d throw me in atracksuit with sneakers, sunglasses, and probably one of his cartoon tees layered underneath. Basically, his go-to look, just in my size. And yes,I’d wear it. If it makes him proud, no hesitation.”a
WHAT DO YOU HOPE DUCKY LEARNS FROM THE WAY HE DRESSES?
“I hope he sees that clothing is more than just what you wear,it’s a way to express who you are.
I try to dress with intention, comfort, and confidence, and I want him to pick up on that.
Whether I’m dressing him or he’s starting to choose his own outfits, my hope is that he learns to feel good in what he wears,to be proud of his individuality, and to understand thatstyle is a reflection of how you carry yourself in the world.”
